Buffs presentation – 10:30am
The Queen's Royal Lodge of the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes (the Buffs) raised a huge amount of money for the Samson Centre over the course of 2009. Representatives Paul and Jan Cook and others are coming to the Centre to present us with a cheque.
Do try to come along to welcome them and show them how much we appreciate the Buffs’ generosity and hard work.
This event was originally planned for the 10th February, but has been rescheduled.

Talk: Deep diving & HBO – 8:15pm
Distinguished former Royal Navy diver Cyril Lafferty will be speaking about his pioneering work in saturation diving, and about the use of Hyperbaric Oxygen therapy at the Waterside Centre.
Those arriving early will have time for a tour of the HBO facility.

Wine Festival – 6pm-9:30pm
Taurus Wines' 9th summer wine festival takes place at Gate Street Barn, near Bramley.
Around 30 of their main suppliers will be present to show over 300 wines. Complimentary cheese, paté and coffee will be available, along with wine tasting.
Entrance is £10 per person, £5 of which will be donated to the Samson Centre.
There is ample free parking, but please let Taurus Wines know (01483 548484) if you require disabled parking.

Nice Iron Man
No, not a pleasant refugee from the Wizard of Oz, but an extreme sports challenge taking place in France, involving a 3.8km swim, a 180km cycle ride, and a 40km run – think of it as a Triathlon on steroids!
Old Actonian rugby player and Samson Centre supporter Keith Rimmer is taking part to raise money for the Samson Centre, and hoping to avenge a narrow defeat at the hands of his brother in a similar event in New Zealand last year in the process.

Once again, Lingfield Racecourse have kindly given permission for us to hold a collection at the course, although unlike previous years here, we will be collecting at the main entrance only.
The gates open two hours before the first race, which is at 5:40pm. The last race is at 8:10pm, and the meeting is followed by musical entertainment which finishes at around 10pm.
