We all had a great evening at the Cobham Hilton on Thursday 19th December with guest speakers Michael Owen and Peter Brackley. More than 160 people had a marvellous night as well as being incredibly generous in the raffle, quiz and auction, raising in total over £10,000. We had a delicious dinner followed by a hilarious speech by Peter Brackley, then a fascinating session when Ian Darke questioned Michael Owen about his career and also his subsequent training of racehorses.
Michael Owen was both charming and very interesting whilst Ian Darke did a brilliant job in both interviewing Michael and compering the whole evening. Peter Brackley was really funny and was incredibly impressive in his ability to run a very lucrative auction. Enormous thanks are due to Liz Darke who both organised and ran the evening so smoothly and successfully which was so appreciated by everyone who attended.
