About the artist

Reg Bull is a self-taught amateur who paints purely as a hobby, and is currently a member of the Fleet Art Society. Having painted on and off for some forty years in a variety of media, he has finally settled on oil as his favourite medium. This is not a copy of an oil painting. It has been produced by combining two photographs – one taken of a 1:90 scale model of the Cutty Sark that Reg built, and the other taken of the sea off Cadgewith, The Lizard, Cornwall. These have been skilfully manipulated on a computer by Steve Drysdale of Giant Web Design, to give the impression of an oil painting of this clipper ploughing her way out to sea.
